Jessica Means, MA, LPC, CCHP, brings over 17 years of dedicated experience in the field of substance use and mental health treatment. Holding a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of New Haven, Jessica is a licensed professional counselor in both Connecticut and Virginia, with certifications as a Certified Correctional Health Professional CPR and as an Acu-detox specialist (5 point auricular acupuncture).

Throughout Jessica’s career, she has demonstrated a commitment to innovation and excellence in clinical leadership. She specializes in managing pivotal programs within integrated care systems, consistently driving robust outcomes through strategic initiatives. Jessica’s unique ability to assess and translate behavioral insights into actionable strategies has significantly influenced organizational decision-making processes.

With a proven track record of growth and leadership, Jessica has held roles as a Clinical Supervisor, private individual therapist, Clinician and serves as Board Chair for Advancing Connecticut Together, demonstrating a deep-seated commitment to community engagement and advocacy. collaborative approach extends to diverse populations, cross-functional teams, and key stakeholders, fostering productive relationships that enhance patient care and organizational effectiveness.

Tom is a Resident in Counseling in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He earned his Master of Arts degree from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, specializing in clinical mental health counseling. Having worked more than 20 years as a registered nurse, Tom brings a wealth of knowledge and experience into his new profession as a therapist. He has worked with populations of all ages and many cultures in a variety of settings, including outpatient, inpatient, the managed care industry, and as a contractor for the DoD working with military families. Tom uses a variety of therapeutic approaches in his work with clients, including cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, person-centered, and strength-based approaches. He believes in the inherent worth and dignity of every human being and will strive to help his clients meet their greatest potential.

Grayson joined Encore in December 2024 as a Primary Therapist, where she facilitates both intensive outpatient and general outpatient groups, in addition to providing individual therapy. She is deeply passionate about supporting clients on their recovery journey—whether they are beginning their first steps or returning after previous attempts. With a special focus on addiction and trauma, Grayson meets each client where they are, offering a compassionate and individualized approach.

When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Grayson shares, “I love working with clients throughout their healing journey, on the hard days as well as the celebratory ones, regardless of how big or small.” Her experience spans a wide range of care levels, including residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings. She also has a strong background in crisis intervention, creating a safe and grounded space for clients in vulnerable moments.

Having lived in multiple countries and immersed herself in different cultures, Grayson values the uniqueness of every individual and strives to understand the whole person. She brings empathy, compassion, creativity, psychoeducation, and a dash of humor into her therapeutic work.

Grayson earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University. She is trained in the Seeking Safety curriculum and is also EMDR-trained, currently working toward full certification as an EMDR therapist.

Sarah is a Resident in Counseling in Virginia. Sarah received her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Studies with a concentration in Psychology from Indiana University. She then went on to obtain a dual master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Forensic & Legal Psychology from Marymount University. She has experience in working with adults and adolescents in numerous settings including residential substance use treatment, domestic violence shelters, and outpatient substance use treatment. Sarah uses a variety of therapeutic approaches including dialectical behavioral, person-centered, narrative, and motivational interviewing. She is trained in EMDR and is working towards certification. Sarah believes that the desire to be heard, seen and supported is universal and often ignites the wisdom within us humans that can result in growth, healing and change.

When Sarah is not at work, she loves to hike and camp with her loved ones. She also loves to spend her free time tending to her garden.

Hebe Boyett is a Counselor Associate who has been with Encore Outpatient Services since March 2019. Her enthusiasm for this position is to help others achieve their freedom from substances and to thrive in life. She brings her energy and knowledge to assist in facilitating group therapy sessions, recovery coaching, administrative supports and many other key duties.  Hebe moved to Virginia in 2002 from Texas and in 2004 when she began her own recovery journey. With a drive and passion to support others seeking recovery she enrolled at Northern Virginia Community College graduating in 2018 with an Associate of Science Degree and a certification for Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. She continued her education toward Substance abuse counseling with George Mason University and received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Health in 2021. Hebe is a CSAC supervisee and is supervised by Kim Ragan, LCSW, LSATP, CSAC license number 0904006549.

In her free time, Hebe is active in the local recovery community with 20 years sobriety; she enjoys helping with events, service positions, and supporting those new to recovery navigate their process. She also loves meeting people, learning, movies, music of all genres, and relaxing time with her family, friends, and three hedgehogs, Carl Jung, Anna “Carla” Freud, and Sigmond “Siggy” Freud.

After 30 years as a teacher, trainer, and corporate process facilitator, I got my Masters in Counseling Psychology and became a Marriage and Family Therapist. I like to say that it’s what I always wanted to be when I grew up.

I work with individuals and families of all kinds on increasing ease in their lives and their family systems.

I work with families dealing with addiction, building alliances with clients and clinical teams to support personal growth, reduction of suffering, awareness, and health of the family system and its individual members.

I work with adults, adult children and families, children, and adolescents, providing evidence-based clinical interventions.

I facilitate groups, individual, and relational therapy. I design, develop, and deliver workshops for all ages as well as social and emotional learning classes for adolescents. I am a member of the clinical trauma team, ensuring trauma-informed service delivery. At Encore, I facilitate the weekly family/friend virtual support group providing a safe place to process and ask questions, skill building, psycho-education and more to those who attend.

I have a deep commitment to supporting individuals in developing a deep self-compassion which is the underpinning of sustained growth and mental health.

Juli is a licensed clinical social worker and yoga therapist and has extensive experience working in addiction and dual diagnosis treatment settings. During Juli’s many years working as a clinician, she has developed a passion for working with people struggling with substance use and addiction. Whether it be during therapy sessions, coaching, or during yoga sessions, Juli’s focus is to help people develop understanding of how unresolved trauma or underlying issues may contribute to their challenges with addiction or mental health, and to support them in learning ways to heal. Juli is a certified yoga instructor and is certified in yoga for 12 step recovery. She is passionate about exercise, and the role that movement can play in promoting overall well-being. Juli is an LCSW in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia and completed her master’s of social work at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Susanne is a Resident in Counseling who has a solid background in helping people heal and feel better from the inside-out. Susanne helps patients using an integrated mind-body approach that focuses on rebuilding connection, in an effort to achieve profound, sustained wellness. She believes that healing and recovery are possible for everyone, through hard work and small steps taken consistently.

Susanne’s approach is centered on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Positive Psychology. As part of her integrative approach, she also incorporates a focus on physical wellness, including sleep, exercise, mindfulness, nutrition and creativity in her work with clients. She has worked in residential addiction treatment centers, including programs focusing on the first responder population, and an outpatient treatment center for eating disorders. Her patients have included athletes, members of law enforcement and the military, executives, and parents as well as teens, college students and young adults. She helps patients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and unhealthy relationships with substances and other addictive behaviors.

Susanne completed her undergraduate degree in French and Spanish at Rutgers University, followed by a M.A. in International Affairs from American University. Pivoting with life and its twists and turns, Susanne was drawn toward a career in wellness, and became a certified Life Coach and Triathlon Coach, as well as yoga instructor. Susanne added a second master’s degree, in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through the College of William & Mary. She holds various certifications, including Yoga4Sobriety and trauma-informed yoga instruction, and speaks Spanish fluently.

Javon Trice brings over 7 years of experience in the field of substance abuse and mental health services. Javon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Studies with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation from Old Dominion University in Norfolk Virginia.

Javon recently relocated back to the Northern Virginia area. He previously worked as a Discharge Planner in Las Vegas Nevada. He is a dedicated healthcare professional with a strong background in patient care coordination, discharge planning and patient centered care. Javon specializes in streamlining patient transitions and fostering smooth collaborative care with community providers.

Javon is passionate about professional development, healthcare technology, innovated business and collaborative care strategies. He is excited to be a part of the team.

With over six years of experience in administrative operations, Carola plays a key role in ensuring the efficiency and organization of Encore Outpatient Services. Known for exceptional customer service and attention to detail, she brings extensive knowledge of insurance processes, billing, and payment management.

As Lead Office Specialist, Carola oversees all back-end functions—including scheduling, billing, and financial coordination—helping to create a smooth and supportive experience for both clients and staff.

Latanya is a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist with over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Since earning certification in 2018, she has successfully managed all aspects of the credentialing and privileging process for physicians and non-physician practitioners across multiple specialty areas, including Gastroenterology, Oncology, Hematology, Family Practice, Cardiology, and Physical, Speech, and Occupational Therapy.

She maintains the highest standards of performance in administrative and financial functions, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and excellence in credentialing operations.

She consistently demonstrates strong work ethic, exceptional customer service, adaptability, and ability to navigate complex transitions and challenges. Latanya joins the Encore Team as the Evening Office Specialist where she brings a wealth of knowledge and excitement.
