Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Encore provides IOP treatment offered at three, four, or five days a week, with both day and evening groups, supporting substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders to patients who live in the Greater Northern Virginia area. Our offices are conveniently located near the Ballston Metro stop.

The IOP program offers customized care that incorporates structured programming and a variety of outpatient treatment services. The IOP meets the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s (ASAM) level 2.1 criteria for IOP services.

Treatment includes:

• Evaluation
• Individual therapy
• Trauma-specific treatment modalities
• Group therapy
• Holistic, expressive, and experiential therapies
• Case management
• Family support group, and psychoeducation
• Psychiatry, medication management, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
