General Outpatient Program (GOP)

Encore provides GOP treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders to individuals in the Greater Northern Virginia area. Our offices are conveniently located near the Ballston Metro stop.

Encore’s GOP can provide support and guidance if you are:

• Transitioning from a higher level of care and seeking to further strengthen your coping strategies and skills, improve your emotional well-being, and develop your ability to maintain long-term recovery
• In early-stage recovery with mild to moderate symptoms and looking for preventive interventions
• In long-term recovery and want the support of periodic check-ins and ongoing support
• Concerned about emerging addictive behaviors
• Facing a life transition and need additional support during life transitions

Treatment is designed to meet the needs of each individual receiving services, which include:

• Evaluation
• Individual therapy
• Group therapy
• Trauma-specific treatment
• Holistic and experiential therapies
• Family support services
• Case management
• Medication management and psychiatric support

You can count on comprehensive therapeutic support from licensed mental health professionals who specialize in addiction and mental health treatment. Your family can also benefit from support and guidance through Encore’s family services.

Virtual General Outpatient Group

This weekly group provides a supportive space for continued growth, connection, and accountability following completion of a higher level of care. The program will meet virtually every Tuesday from 5:30-6:30 PM EST. The group is for Virginia residents only who have completed a higher level of care (Inpatient, Residential, PHP, or IOP) and for those seeking continued treatment at a lower level of care. Must have a minimum of 30 days clean/sober to attend the program.

Participants will engage in:

• Ongoing support for long-term sobriety goals
• Relapse prevention strategies
• Continued skill building for recovery maintenance
• Peer connection and therapeutic guidance

It is flexible, based on your needs. We offer morning and evening sessions and customized treatment schedules that aim to accommodate work, school, and family commitments.

You can attend one or two weekly group therapy sessions lasting 90 minutes per group. Individual therapy is typically scheduled once a month or as needed up to once per week and sessions can last 30 to 60 minutes.

Your length of treatment will last as long as you need it, from a few weeks to several months to ensure that you have the support and stability needed to maintain your recovery.
